President Eisenhower Photo Analysis

This blog is about portrait of President Eisenhower back from the 1950s. With photos professionally made the photographer always want the viewer to see or feel something within the photograph. Before you can make a descriptive statement about the photo I'm about to present you must first know the variables or photography. These are: Angle, the way the photographer positions the subject before taking the photo. Proximity, the distance from the camera the photographer puts the subject or EG close-ups. Lighting, the light a photographer will set up before a shot to make a subject appear a certain way EG scary.

In this photo the photographer has set President Eisenhower with one hand on his hip while leaning against an object to show he's an interactive man. He is also given the appearance of success by the clothing the photographer has placed on him. He also gives off the clear impression that he is a likable guy by the smile on his face. It is no coincidence you can only focussing on him, the photographer has made it that way for a reason. By making the photo a close up you can only focus on who is in the close - up. And the city background shows he's a man who works in the city who is buisy often.

The lighting in this photo does come from an angle making him look serious but also in a way trustworthy and almost like he has secrets. More of so the photographer did this to make him look mysterious and professional. To me this is a convincing photo of President Eisenhower because it shows a serious but fun business man who is successful at what he does.

Persuasion Assingment

For this blog we were told to pick a advertisement that stood out to us and create a summary about it. for this blog I have chose the Chocolate Cadbury's Gorilla Commercial, because to me it uses the "Weird Factor". The weird factor is when somebody does or uses something so weird it sticks with us because we can't forget it.

To me this is a great advertisement that is extremely effective because last week when I first saw this during a class presentation I thought it was hilarious and even went home and told my parents.

Check out the video!

The humor in this commercial is because they put a Gorilla on a drum set to the song In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins, that is very unexpected! Also the expressions they had the Gorilla doing made it just that bit better. The weird factor made it stick with our heads even longer because you will never see that happen in real life.

I think the people who created this advertisement knew that humor is generally the best method for attracting attention and used it to their full advantage. That is how I believe they used persuasion in this particular commercial.

Persuasion

This blog is about persuasion, how it's used, and the fundamentals of using it to your advantage.
Persuasion is the way people or companies will try to convince you to do them a favor or even purchase their product.  It is used very often in today's urban world of advertisement.  Often those funny commercials you see on TV are persuading you to recognise their product by using methods that are known to stick with the human brain for a long period of time.

These methods are:
Humor:  There is not a day you do not laugh.  companies can use this to their advantages by creating a commercial with humor included.  I.E  Click Link Here!

Macho:  This might appeal to men more than women,  no man wants to buy something wimpy.  Generally Advertisements will include someone tough or big so the impression that if you purchase their product you will be tough!  I.E Click Link Here

Friends:  The iconic picture of best friend having a great time walking down the street with a product in their hands laughing and talking.  This would appeal to people because it's the classic picture of friendship everyone wants to have.  I.E  Click Link Here!

Fun:  Who doesn't want fun?  People will buy products if it looks fun,  add a smile to a commercial with people doing tasks and suddenly cleaning your house is fun.  I.E

Family:  Now we all have seen the Monopoly commercials with a family sitting around the dining room table having a fun game of monopoly.  Often people will see this and think " Classic family bonding!  I have to get it"  I.E  Click Link Here!

Nature:  Think of a granola bar.  Nobody wants chemical made granola bars.  By adding nature infront of it, people will think it is better for you because that granola bar contains "natural grains and whole wheat",  compaired to the others who are chemicaly made.  The reality is they are made the exact same way.  I.E  Click Link Here!

Sexy:  No one wants something dull.  Most companies will add super models wearing exposing clothing to brighten up the commercial and attract attention to the add.  This is a very effective method that companies use to make a profit.  I.E  Click Link Here!

Cartoons:  Cartoon commercials are easy to make and you can make your character do whatever you want.  That is why so many companies use it.  As most would say " Who doesn't like a good cartoon?"  These often appeal to kids because a large population of the shows they watch are cartoons.  I.E  Click Link Here!  Caution, mild language!

Celebrity:  A celebrity is usually someone popular or famous you look up to.  Companies will pay these celebrities to appear in one of their commercials and talk great about why you all should have this product.  Or companies will even just use them as people in the story line.  I.E   Click Link Here!

Wealth:  Companies want people to think magical things will happen if you use their product.  What does everyone want to be?  Wealthy is the answer,  if you say in a commercial "  This will change your life and even make you richer"  That is a huge attention grabber because it's giving someone a feeling that if i buy this i can be rich!  By putting a nice car in the backround with someone speaking infront of it it gives the impression they are rich.  I.E  Click Link Here!

During a regular class session my class did a game invlolving two people guesing which advertisement falls under which catagory.  It was a interesting game but a difficult one as well.  The objective was to guess all ten before every other group in the class.

This post is about Tylenol and how it can help and also affect people. Tylenol is a source of relief for anyone with pain.  Pain can vary from headache to arthritis.  Depending on  body weight or age two tablets of Tylenol will help. Here is more information about Tylenol.

1) Tylenol is an acetaminophen or a pain killer for short.  The recommended amount can bring relief to pain caused by an injury or illness. Overdosing of this drug can cause liver damage and possible death.

2) Here is a safety video on how to safely use tylenol products.  Just follow the link and type in " Tylenol facts" in the search bar.

3) This next website has correct information about daily recommendation and its strength.

4) Did you also know that Tylenol is an effective fever relief medicine. Often 2 tablets is enough to help reduce the common fever. Only 500 milligrams or 1 pill is fine for children.

5) This website will give you all the information you will want to know about the possible side effects of tylenol with codeine.

mason's response blog to...

My very first re blog is about what Discovery News or the Discovery channel posted to there website about "false starts and reaction time between men and women based on recent studies conducted by the university of Michigan about women getting away with false starts more then men because of a shorter reaction time men have to the starting pistol compared to women's reaction time as a study results taken from the 2008 Beijing Olympics". My thoughts on this is after I had first read it was this might not be the best thing but at other thought realized other people would disagree with my thought because what the study clearly showed was that men were able to react 23 milliseconds better to the starting gun then women can as the study showed. But advantage to the women because of there smaller size and weight they are more reactive to a starting alarm sometimes and more often causing a false start when they know the gun is about to go off. But still this is a professional sport and cheating or allowing false starts would change the sport and allow people to have and in even (not fair) race.

Check it out for yourself here!
